1930’s Blue Velvet Gown

Absolutely stunning midnight blue crushed velvet bias cut dress from the 1930’s.  The color shimmers!  The top of each shoulder is ruched and the bust has gathers for a lovely fit.  At the waist is a diamond shape that has gathers at top and bottom, which is flattering to the figure.  The front of the skirt is shorter than the back, giving the back a train-like look that pools on the floor, depending on your height.  The dress fastens on the side with 8 hook and eye closures.

Condition:  excellent, other than a repair in the skirt, I tried to get a photo of the repair, but couldn’t get a good one, it really blends in with the fabric unless you hold the inside of the skirt up to the light, then you can see it
