Black & White Polka Dot Dress

Super cool 1970’s black and white polka dot dress that still has the original tags and purchase receipt.  The label is Molie Parnis Boutique New York and this dress was purchased at Saks Fifth Avenue in April 1973.  The tags show that the original price of the dress was $145 and it is 100% cotton.  The dress is marked a size 12.  The receipt shows who purchased the dress and the date of 4/7/73.  The purchaser then had the dress altered, so picked it up on 4/21/73.

The dress zips up the front and has a snap and two hook and eye closures.  There is a rounded accent running from the neck to the bustline that also runs around the back, a banded waist, and two front pockets.  The dress has white stitching details.  The hem and the front placket from the waist to hem is edged in lace on the inside (see photo).  This was a very well made garment.

Condition:  excellent, no flaws noted and it appears never to have been worn

Model’s measurements are 32” bust, 26” waist, and 36” hips, she is 5’6” tall.
