Pink & Black Victorian Blouse

This is a museum worthy piece, at least in our opinion.  This Victorian piece is pink and black  with so many interesting details, starting with the fabulous black velvet and pink collar edged in over 2 1/2” of black lace that covers the collar, bodice, and exaggerated shoulders.  It is accented by two pink chiffon rosettes.  There are also two pink chiffon rosettes accenting the waistline.  This piece has exceptional mutton sleeves.  They start with a gathered fullness that runs to the elbow and then taper to the wrist.  The lower part of the sleeve is accented with bands of the black velvet & pink striped trim leading to a small bow accent at the wrist.  The piece fastens up the front with 14 hook and eye closure.  The piece has a corset like look to it.

Condition:  excellent for the age of the piece; there are some scattered dark spots on the sleeves, which can be seen in the photos, there is some slight discoloration under the arms, and a couple of very small holes, most of which are covered by the collar-we did not attempt to clean this piece
