“Pretty Foxy” 1950’s Swimsuit

1950’s Pinup Girl Swimsuit

Details:  This amazing swimsuit is made from fabric designed by Laura Jean Allen.  Her designs were featured in Vogue, Seventeen, and other fashion magazines in the 1950’s.  Her designs are also included in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology.  

This design is called “Pretty Foxy.”  It features foxes, squirrels, dogs, acorns, leaves, and rifles.  The suit is light grey with the design done in chartreuse, black, light pink, and hot pink.  The inside underwear part of the suit is dark grey.  The suit it shirred down the middle, on each side, and down the zipper.  It fastens in back with a metal zipper and a hook and eye. The bust has a fold over detail and the inside cup is lined.  The suit can be worn strapless (as our model chose to wear it), or there are straps that attach with a button; there are two buttonholes so they can be adjusted.
